Before joining JKA in 2022 as a Designer, René Cavazos was the Director of Design at Strand Engineering & Architecture in Dallas, Director of Operations at 5Gstudio in San Antonio, Concept Planner at Brinker International in Dallas, and Project Leader at the Beck Group. With over 25 years of architectural design experience, René excels in developing client-centric solutions in a collaborative environment. He is an exceptionally thorough and detail-oriented designer and manager.

René’s project typologies are diverse, including movie theaters, restaurants, office buildings, medical facilities, and both new and renovation residential projects. He has directed all major strategic design decisions in the initial phases of projects and oversees conceptual consistency throughout the delivery phases.

René earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, and having studied in Mexico, Spain, Italy, and the U.S., he developed a passion for travel and freehand sketching. René and his wife currently reside in Richardson, Texas with their three children. In their spare time, they enjoy watching their youngest son play sports and music, supporting their older sons in college, and engaging in outdoor activities with their two dogs.
